Once it has reached this stage, a toothbrush or ordinary dental floss can no longer remove it, and you need assistance from a dentist or dental professional to have the tartar removed.

2. Why is it necessary to have tartar removed regularly?

Many of us still think: “I brush my teeth carefully 2–3 times a day, and my teeth still look white, so why should I spend money having my tartar removed?” But the truth is that no matter how skillfully you brush your teeth, there are always “dead spots” in the mouth that a toothbrush cannot reach. These areas are highly susceptible to plaque and tartar buildup.

Tartar is not simply a few harmless deposits of mineralized material. It acts as a reservoir for millions of bacteria and can lead to a number of consequences, including:

  • Bad breath and bleeding gums: Bacteria in tartar continuously release toxins that cause the gums to become swollen and red, making them prone to bleeding when brushing and causing unpleasant breath.
